Anfahrt bis zum Startpunkt der Tour:
We drove to Flums with the car.
Beschreibung des Aufstiegs:
We did what Bertran Gerrits suggested and parked the car at the Mehrzweckhalle (47.090285, 9.346372), which cost us nothing :O)
This is the second H&F that I am posting here, Oliver and I feel that it's important to describe the equipment that we use, in order for others to better judge the Kondition category. Bertran said that the tour took him 3 1/2 hours, and we felt that this is a bit sporty. We're no olympic athletes, but we're not coach potatoes either :O))
Olly, who cares about every single gram (and the colour ;O) ) has a Niviuk Skin 16, an Ozone OZO and a light weight reserve. With food and drink, equipment etc, he carries about 8kg.
Me, I have an Advance Epsilon 7, Advance Easiness 1, a light weight reserve. With food and drink, equipment etc, I carry about 14kg.
The route has no technical sections, but many pitches are steep and require a decent level of fitness. The first few pitches go through woods. We did this at the end of October, and I felt that it was a little shady, which would be great in the Summer. Once we left the woods the views were OK. They started to improve the higher we got, let say at the height of the Berghotel Schönhalden, 633m, where the incline also increased, too.
The photographs should give you a good idea of the type of hike this is.
Beschreibung des Startplatzes:
The starting area is a descent size, which you can see on several of the photographs. Parts of it are a bit moorish, which can cause the lines to get caught, but this is not really a problem
Besonderheiten bei Start, Flug und Landung:
The landing is easy. There is a wind sock, which, once you are low enough, you can easily see from the sky.
