CLIMBING AND PARAGLIDING FLIGHT FROM THE EIGER SUMMIT 3,970 MTS SWITZERLAND
On August 20-21, Adrenaline Paragliders team composed by four mountaineers and Spanish pilots : Alejandro Ortuño Buzó, Marcelo Martínez Calero, Cristina Nuñez de Arenas y Albert Crusat ,
in a joint expedition, they manage to climb up to the top of Mount Eiger in Switzerland and fly down from its 3.970mts to the Swiss town of Grindelwald, being the first Spanish and the first woman in the world, to achieve this challenge.
The ascent was made by Arista Mittellegi, making summit on August 21 at 5:30 pm. It was a long climb up by a ridge of rock and snow, having to overcome glaciers, and calcareous sharp ridges of snow and ice.
The first day we made a glacier hiking and rock climbing, to the Mittellegi Refuge, located on the edge at 3,350 meters of altitude. The second day consisted of a long ascent to rock mixed terrain and snow, after twelve hours drove us to the top of that mountain.
paragliding takeoff took place from same Summit to the north side, with a very technical and risky takeoff.
The flight allowed us to fly across the north face and Mittellegi edge and forty five minutes after, we landing successfully in Grindelwald.
